Starting an art vending machine

So you want to start an art vending machine to sell your art? That’s a wonderful idea— I want to help you!

Art vending machines are a great way to increase your footprint as an artist, as well as diversify your revenue streams.

How I started my art vending machine journey

I’m Sahily, the gal behind Pigmented Press, with 4 vending machines that are part of my income streams as an artist.

I started my first vending machine in 2024 and had little idea of what to do. I just knew I wanted to make my art accessible and that I wanted the machine to be an extension of my artistic brand. I learned a lot along the way and faced many frustrations. Let’s not even talk about the work it took to refurbish my first machine or my many printing errors. But I can say as I look back, it was worth it.

I have developed my own style and grown to having 4 machines in 2 different states. My mini prints are becoming a staple in the mini print collectors’ world, and I was even featured in an article about mini print vending machines.

I get a lot of questions from artists who want to start their own art vending machine, and I am working on putting together resources to get started.
